These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Medlitics platform, including our websites, mobile applications, and APIs (collectively, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
Please read these Terms carefully. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Who these Terms apply to
These Terms apply to all users of the Medlitics platform, including:
- Patients — individuals who register to track and manage their health data
- Doctors and clinicians — licensed medical professionals who use the platform to monitor assigned patients
- Organisations — hospitals, clinics, HMOs, and other entities that integrate with Medlitics via API or direct partnership
If you are using the Service on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.
2. Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account (or have verifiable parental/guardian consent)
- You must provide accurate, complete, and current information when registering
- You must be legally permitted to use health monitoring services in your jurisdiction
- Doctors must hold a valid, current licence issued by the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) or an equivalent recognised body
3. Your account
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must:
- Use a strong, unique password and enable multi-factor authentication where available
- Notify us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorised access
- Not share your credentials with any other person
- Not create multiple accounts for the same person
4. Medical disclaimer
Medlitics provides a platform for health data tracking and doctor-patient communication. It does not provide medical advice.
- Alerts generated by Medlitics are based on threshold rules and algorithmic analysis. They are not clinical diagnoses.
- Doctors using Medlitics exercise their own independent professional judgement. Medlitics is not responsible for any clinical decisions made by doctors on the platform.
- Always consult a qualified medical professional for diagnosis, treatment, or medication decisions.
- In a medical emergency, contact emergency services immediately — do not rely on Medlitics alerts as your primary emergency response.
5. Acceptable use
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes. You must not:
- Submit false, misleading, or fabricated health data
- Impersonate a doctor, patient, or any other person
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to another user's data or account
- Use the platform to harass, threaten, or harm any other user
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or exploit the platform or its API without authorisation
- Violate any applicable Nigerian law or international regulation
- Use the Service to transmit malware, spam, or any harmful content
Violation of these rules may result in immediate account suspension and, where appropriate, referral to law enforcement or the MDCN.
6. Subscriptions and billing
Medlitics offers a free tier and paid subscription plans. Paid plans are billed monthly or annually, depending on the plan selected.
- Payments are processed securely by 1app. We do not store card details.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date
- Refunds: we offer a 7-day refund window from your initial subscription payment. After 7 days, no refunds are issued for the current billing period.
- We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' written notice. If you do not accept the new pricing, you may cancel before the new rate takes effect.
- The free tier may have limitations on features and data history. We will give 30 days' notice before reducing free tier benefits.
7. Doctor responsibilities
Doctors and clinicians using Medlitics agree to:
- Maintain a valid medical licence and notify Medlitics immediately if their licence is suspended or revoked
- Respond to patient alerts in a timely and professionally appropriate manner
- Not use the platform to solicit patients for services outside of Medlitics without their explicit consent
- Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with Nigerian medical ethics and law
- Not access the health data of patients not assigned to them
Medlitics reserves the right to remove any doctor from the platform who violates these obligations or whose licence is found to be invalid.
8. Intellectual property
Medlitics owns all intellectual property rights in the platform, including its software, design, algorithms, and brand. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use our trademarks, logos, or trade names.
You retain ownership of the health data you submit to the platform. By submitting it, you grant Medlitics a limited licence to process and display it solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Nigerian law, Medlitics shall not be liable for:
- Any clinical outcome resulting from a doctor's decision on the platform
- Any loss of data due to device failure, connectivity issues, or user error
- Any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the Service
- Any harm arising from failure to seek emergency medical care in preference to using the platform
Our total liability to you in any 12-month period shall not exceed the total fees you paid to Medlitics in that period, or ₦50,000, whichever is greater.
10. Termination
You may close your account at any time from your account settings or by emailing [email protected]. We will delete your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
We may suspend or terminate your account immediately and without notice if you materially breach these Terms, your doctor's licence is revoked, or we are required to do so by law.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Lagos State, Nigeria. We encourage users to contact us first to resolve disputes informally before initiating legal proceedings.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. For material changes, we will notify you by email at least 14 days before the new Terms take effect. Continued use of the Service after that date constitutes acceptance.
